چکیده

Abstract Core sampling is the most accurate method of evaluating compressive strength concrete structures. However, it preferable to take only small cores avoid damaging It turns out that various elements influence compressed cores. This study examines specimen size, aggregate class, and curing on strength. Three aggregates measuring 3/8, 8/15, 15/25 mm are used make six sets compositions with strengths 25 MPa 30 MPa. Nine specimens made, one for each variety concrete. Cores 100 mm, 75 50 sizes made. These extracted from blocks in outside air simulate real environment. Cast cured water diameters 150 also The objective compare average all cast or cylindrical standard diameter 150/300 specimens. obtained findings showed overestimated when we f p100 air-cured (f c ), a conversion factor varying 0.69 0.96. decrease observed comparison water-cured use p75 reduced factors, which between 0.83 0.87 B25 highest p /f ratios c50 cores, can reach 1.24. size core class have much greater ratios.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Investigating the Effect of Specimen Diameter Size on Uniaxial Compressive Strength and Elastic Properties of Travertines

Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic properties of rocks play a major and vital role for the design of any engineering structure. The specimen diameter size is one of the main factors that influencing on UCS, elasticity modulus and Poisson’s ratio (E and υ). Here, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of specimen diameter size on UCS, E and υ. Moreover, we studied the co...
